Dr. Sanjay Gupta Blogs…and Micro-Blogs Too!!

1 Feb

Who would have thought that Dr. Sanjay Gupta and rapper T.I. would plant a winter garden? Well believe me, it is true and it is pretty cool, huh?!

CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta is not your ordinary neurosurgeon. After all, how many neurosurgeons have graced the pages of PEOPLE magazine with the label of being one of the “Sexiest Men Alive”? Dr. Sanjay Gupta has won numerous Emmy awards and has been named as one of the most influential celebrities according to Forbes. So yes, I think it is fair to say that Dr. Sanjay Gupta plays a pretty big role in the lives of others.

When disaster strikes he is there. If there is a crisis in another country, yes, he is usually there. Dr. Sanjay Gupta serves on a national and international level. It is no secret that Dr. Sanjay Gupta reports about health issues and medical news when on television but he has taken his expertise to another level. With over 1.5 million followers on Twitter, we can conclude that not only is he certified in the field of medicine, he is also certified in the “Twittersphere” as well.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta brings medicine, micro-blogging, and blogging together. Every now and then, he may share a family-related tweet but that too is quite normal for a medical professional who is as busy as he is. So yes, we do get to see 2/3 of the Gupta Girls because he is a normal human being who loves his children and shares special moments with others. On Twitter, Dr. Sanjay Gupta used a photo to introduce us to Baby Emma who weighed only two pounds. When there was no power Hurricane Sandy, Baby Emma was rushed through New York City.

Although Dr. Sanjay Gupta is very active on Twitter, it is impossible to respond to everyone. However, when he does reply to others, he maintains his professionalism which is a very important part on online reputation. While someone may not understand abbreviations or certain medical conditions, he does a good job with his explanation. There is a 140 character limit on Twitter so Dr. Sanjay Gupta is pretty good with fast and micro-conversations. So if you are into health news or CNN, you can always check out Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s Twitter @DrSanjayGupta or his blog.
